It is two short weeks until we start the spring dinghy series. Get those hulls waxed and buffed, check your rigging, and start those yoga exercises so you can maneuver around in that little hull.
Please consider your gear. That water is cold, and we are much more likely to take a swim than the cocktail sippers in keelboats.
SIs and NOR are posted on the website. We would like to talk a bit before the first race just to review the rules and launching details. We have not changed the launching practices from last year (still use dollies, not road trailers, at the Colorado Watersports area), but the lake is higher, so the effort should be less strenuous. I would like to see if there are some who would rather launch at the ramp and grab a tow from the committee boat into Roxborough Cove.
As per the now established custom, we welcome you to hang around for a while after the races. Bring a snack to share if you can.
Our recent dinghy questionnaire indicated that there are a few people who would be more inclined to sail small boats with some coaching, or if they had access to a boat. Let me know who you are and let’s see if we can address those issues.
A version of this message was emailed out to those on our dinghy sailors list. If you want to be on that list but did not get an email earlier this week, please let me know and I will add you to the list.
