All sailboats are required to have a current PHRF certificate to participate in CSYC racing. To define “current” PHRF certificate, the CSYC Board has established the following policy:
- Every third year (starting 2019), all racers are require to get a new PHRF certificate for their sailboat
- If your sailboat has not been modified since your last PHRF certificate, a new certificate is not required in between the three year requirement schedule.
- New racers are required to get a PHRF certificate at the start of their first racing season
- If you sailboat has been modified, a new PHRF certificate is required
Therefore, all CSYC racers need to obtain a new PHRF Certificate for the start of the 2022 CSYC Racing Season
PHRF certificates are issued by S.A.I.L. (Sailing Association of Intermountain Lakes) and can be obtain at https://rmsail.org/phrf/
When you receive your PHRF certificate by email, forward a copy of it to the CSYC scorer at scorer@csyc.org
There is no direct cost for the PHRF certificate because your Spring/Summer CSYC racing fees include a S.A.I.L. membership for the boat owner. If you have a current PHRF certificate with no modifications to your boat, it is a simple process with clicking “no changes” on PHRF application form. If this is a new or modified PHRF certificate, you might have some questions about the form. You can contact the Mary Griggs at phrf@csyc.org with your questions.
