If you purchased a discounted annual state parks pass through CSYC this year, then you received a voucher I mailed three weeks ago, with a letter (attached) explaining how to redeem the voucher.
That was just before the first COVID-19 cases in Colorado. Crazy how much life has changed in three weeks eh?
Anyway, now Colorado Parks and Wildlife has closed state park offices – but NOT the state parks themselves.
So the question has come up, how can you redeem your vouchers if the state park offices are closed?
This morning I’ve been in communication with CPW and the Chatfield State Park main office, and got the following answer.
For now, you need to tape your voucher, with the dated green side facing forward, to the inside of your car’s windshield on the lower right-hand corner. It will serve as a temporary pass until state park offices are open again, at which time you can exchange it for a real one. I was told that the Park Rangers would be briefed on this temporary solution, so that everybody’s on the same page. It was also advised that you take a picture of your voucher as a record.
Cheers,
