CSYC requires a current PHRF Certificate from the local Sailing Association of Inter-Mountain Lakes (SAIL). Your racing fees include a membership in SAIL and the cost of an annual PHRF Certificate. The SAIL website is currently down but the SAIL PHRF Chair is our own CSYC member Mary Griggs. Anyone requiring a PHRF certificate can contact Mary directly at phrf@csyc.org. She will work with you gathering all the required information.
The CSYC Board has made the following policy on defining a “current” PHRF certificate:
SAIL PHRF certificates from 2019 and later are acceptable for CSYC racing. Any change to a sailboat that effects its PHRF rating would require a new rating. The board believes that three years is an acceptable length between PHRF certificates and will require new certificates before the start of the 2022 racing season.
Every boat owner through their Spring/Summer racing dues receives a SAIL membership and a free PHRF certificate each year. This policy covers only CSYC racing. Regattas at other clubs have their own PHRF certification requirements that may require a certificate for the current year.
