CSYC is preparing to start its dinghy racing season, and we need input from people interested in dinghy racing on which days of the week they’d prefer to race on.
We are shooting to begin dinghy racing on Tuesday evening, June 2.
Last year, the dinghy racing was on Saturday mornings, and the vast majority of participants utilized the Topaz dinghies from Colorado Watersports. They were and still are a great value, but Saturday morning winds were very light.
This year, we are trying a format where dinghies are raced every other Saturday morning and every other Tuesday evening, when the winds might be stronger. The Saturdays and Tuesdays will be scored as separate series, so you can race just Saturdays, just Tuesdays, or both, all for the same race fee.
If there is enough interest, Colorado Watersports would stay late and rent the Topazes on Tuesday evenings (at least 4 confirmed rentals would be enough to have them stay late).
From Tibor of Colorado Watersports:
- Dinghies will be $25 for races, even if they go more than 2 hours. Members are expected to help with moving them down to the beach and back and rig their own boats.
- We are disinfecting all of our equipment between uses, including pfd’s. All of our staff will be wearing masks, we suggest renters do the same and we are doing everything we can to maintain 6feet, obviously at times that is not possible.
CSYC would like to get an idea of when you want to sail and what boats you are interested in with this one-question survey. Results will help us in our planning efforts.

If you’re interested in dinghy racing this year with CSYC, please take a minute and complete this short survey.
